Nebenwirkungen bereits seit 2021 bekannt

Wann genau AstraZeneca welche Nebenwirkungen des Impfstoffes bekannt gab, stand zuletzt zur Debatte. Medienberichte in Großbritannien und Deutschland titelten am Wochenende, AstraZeneca habe in Gerichtsdokumenten anlässlich eines Falles in Großbritannien erstmals zugegeben, "dass seincovid-Impfstoff seltene Nebenwirkungen verursacht haben soll". Zuerst hatte die britische Zeitung "The Telegraph" mit Blick auf den Fall Jamie Scott berichtet.

Auf Anfrage des ARD-faktenfinders widersprach AstraZeneca dieser Darstellung. Das Unternehmen teilte mit: "Die jüngsten Medienberichte zur Sicherheit sind nicht neu und spiegeln nicht die Fakten wider." Die Produktinformationen zum AstraZeneca-Oxford-Impfstoff seien bereits im April 2021 mit Zustimmung der britischen Aufsichtsbehörde MHRA aktualisiert worden und berücksichtigten auch die Möglichkeit, dass der Impfstoff in sehr seltenen Fällen Auslöser einer TTS sein könne, schrieb

das Unternehmen in einer Antwort. Die Aktualisierung sei demnach gut dokumentiert und öffentlich verfügbar gewesen.
